    It would have more chance as a free-house as the owner could then buy the wet-sales cheaper than they could from a chain like Enterprise Inns or Punch Taverns or even Shepherd Neame.

    There is an archway to the back but I don't know the size of any rear area. I've never know it as an Hotel, only as a pub.

    Would it be able to attract good clientele, otherwise it'll be a rough old pub and not do well.

    I could imagine it would/could be converted into decent quality flats/apartments, depends on the owner.
    The old Natwest on the opposite corner was converted into some sort of flats a good few years ago, but don't know if it is run by a housuing assn or private.
