    True Jan but there are many Parliamentary presidents to this.

    The most immediate and scandalous one is Gordon Brown who has barely attended the House of Commons since he was re-elected.

    If she can do what she says she can do (I am not sure she can) and promote some key issues that concern her to a public who does not normally take any notice of these things, then she can argue that she is spending up to a month doing her job.
