We all have our own ways of getting our message across and our own ways of delivering what we want to achieve for our community.

As Howard says there is a good bunch of highly motivated volunteers that just get on and do stuff from clearing the Dour, to running community forums, to working with people with disabilities etc etc all of which is fantastic and makes our community a much socially richer place to live. These volunteers efforts could and will be enhanced through the work Big Local is doing and the community network proposed by various groups.

What we are missing is the thing that will lift Dover to the next level and see improvements in employment, the retail environment etc.

The most positive thing I have seen recently is the suggestion of a new skatepark. This works on many levels but importantly it would be a major new attraction drawing people into Dover, creating footfall for retailers and hoteliers, putting money into the local economy and ultimately seeing employment opportunities grow
