  i think that you are being optimistic there, all the parties have a hierarchy that fades into the background when it suits them.
  
  the tory grandees are just waiting for the moment to topple the leadership.
  they have made it quite clear what they think of dc and his clearout of the crooks.
  it is seen as stalinist, they will get revenge when the time is right.
  there are still the cloth caps and whippet brigade in the governing party, they have suddenly distanced themselves from the blair/brown new labour image.
  
  only because they are losing, otherwise they would continue to go along with it.
