23:4086564Sadly my son-in-law's parents, both in their seventies, took a tumble this morning on black ice. He cut to his head and she broke her wrist, both were taken to Ashford by ambulance where after a while they ended up meeting a neighbour from along the road who had been bitten by a fox of all things.
Just goes to show how small the world can be at times.

23:4986565now that is rather strange.. but it does happen like that sometimes, a fox biting? they are getting desperate then as the snow must be causing them problems.
i got shouted at by a driver whilst home for Xmas day, took the hounds for a toodle, with a torch and high vis coat on, because the paths up in Whitfield are pretty dire I walked on the road, making sure the torch was on and pointing at the ground, and the dogs on the path ( 4 legs better than 2!)
this bloke pulled over and told me i should get on the path where i should be , so i shone the torch as said path and invited him to take a little walk, he looked pretty darn sheepish when he saw it was like sheet ice...

12:4386584I should have added thanks to the very kind people of Kearsney or River (not sure which) who came to their rescue with blankets etc while they were waiting for the ambulance. Both are home and their other son is staying there for the holidays so they are not alone at all. They are both very fit for their age as they do a lot of walking which was why they were taking a constitutional after all the snow.
I always said exercise is bad for you.
If I have understood correctly the fox was being released from being tangled up in something but I have no idea where.

14:4386590Sorry to hear your sad news Jan and yet with all the ice covered payments still around us, I`m surprised there aren`t many more accident`s of this type.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

17:2786600Goodness Jan how awful, glad your son-in-law's parents are doing ok though.
Alas you can't explain to an animal you are helping untangle them and they retaliate when they think they are cornered. I have been bitten (not by a fox) in a similar situation.
