13:4994425It is indeed a really fab day. Lovely! We had family over yesterday, a rare event because of the travel, and despite the rain the walk along the pier and through Dover was really enjoyable. It was nice to show Dover off a bit, although without complaining the guests did comment on how run down and derelict much of it was and what a real shame it was to see the lovely buildings ruined and wasted. We were careful to highlight the lovely bits and it was good to be able to do so, but seeing it, again, through the eyes of visitors it was easy to feel a bit ashamed.
It looks better in the good weather, it has to be said.

13:5494429Yes a lovely day out there, I have just been tending my many planters and tubs by pouring all the water out of them. Being a pessimist I suppose it will be back to rain tomorrow, we seem to get one nice day followed by two wet.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

14:0094432It is wonderful to have the sun flooding in through the windows. I have been so sick of the constant grey and grim weather we have had. Looking forward to a bright spring (already quite late) and summer.

thanks bern, just for info the water balanced lift in the previous post is now run by volunteers.
the idea was spawned before the "big society" was mooted.

20:3494511Lovely pics Howard. We have family contacts in Lynton in Devon and love travelling on their water lift but haven't been on the Leas one yet.
I've seen the volunteers are having a beer festival there soon, that could mean a few liquid laughs if the ride isn't too smooth

20:4594517careful mel, he uses that line until he gets his evil way.
there is a trail of broken hearts and empty building society accounts that can be attributed to him.
