Far from being the working mans pub I think in an awful lot of instances and I am certainly not unaware of some of the people that drink in there, it is more the dole scroungers and alcoholics pub who want everything for nothing.
Its good for the youngsters on a weekend night where they all meet but the rest of the time its awful, no atmosphere, no staff interaction with the customers, tables that haven't been cleared and a couldn't care a less attitude of some of the staff.
As far as the wallet is concerned if you have to rifle around everywhere to get a cheap drink, give it up, you can live quite happily without it.
Give me the good old fashioned British local any day I'd much rather pay an extra 30p for my J20 and natter to the landlord if I'm on my own.
A major part of our heritage is dying on its feet, the likes of Wetherspoons only contribute more to its death.
I can only say don't moan when all you have left in the town is muli-national companies, you've almost got that now.
