Looking at Ed's posting of the former St. Columba Church reminded me that both the church and Westmount suffered fires within 24 hrs. of each other in Sept. 2007. As far as I can tell the last news on Westmount was that applications for development were expected back in Feb/March. Does anyone have any updates?
I found this site which has some surprisingly good pictures of the interior of the derelict building.

Here's one of the fire and another taken from the Heights on Tuesday.

i remember the day of the westmount fire very clearly, came out of my front door that morning to see the flames.
i thought the planning application for conversion to flats had gone through, probably roger would be the person to confirm that.

figures have varied from £20,000 to £200,000
but its what you can get out of a develioper who has NO OBLIGATION to give a farthing if he/she doesn't want to

even if the money was paid there would still be the problem of finding a location.
