Western Heights Work Parties - 17th April
- 16 April 2011 19:04102108In preparation for the open weekend in June the Western Heights Preservation Society work parties will continue tomorrow (just realised the event is 8 weeks today!!)
There is an immense amount of work to be done especially with the recent thefts of many of our tools, but fortunately we are being loaned some strimmers by the Dover Society so we can continue work.
Tomorrow we will be finishing giving the inside of the Grand Shaft guardroom a lick of paint, preparing the Drop Redoubt temporary site lighting and an huge amount of grass cutting and weeding !!

Just spent a lovely morning at the Western Heights and met these wonderful people from the WCCP. They worked so hard in the hot midday sun and as they stopped for a well earned cuppa I asked if I could take a photo.
It was great to meet Mandy and Phil Eyden and put faces to names and also nice to have a chat with them both.
We all owe these guys a big thank you for what they do to keep our history alive.
Well done to all of them and I'm sorry I don't know all their names.
