bit of a shock when i arrived at the castle this morning, i thought they had stopped their tricks now that we are all in the european union together.
thankfully our chaps were there to keep things under control.

Not having been to any of those events up there, was it bigger and better Howard ?
They say one swallow doesn't make a summer; does one old car make it a vintage car-rally ?
Does one model spitfire make it an air-show ? No, of course not, but I guess it does add an air of authenticity - doesn't it ?
A Lancaster and two spits went over Dover in the afternoon - I didn't see or hear the red-arrows though.

the answer is a resounding no roger, i was expecting to see a selection of vintage cars and military vehicles.
it wasn't a patch on previous years.

Thanks Howard - that's a shame.
I'm sure then that a lot of local people would have gone up there expecting more and perhaps wish they had gone to another local event.

Could the reason be that being the Jubilee weekend that ones who were usually at the castle have been booked elsewhere?

possibly ian but the advertising blatantly announced that it would be the best ever.
people travel from france, holland, belgium and germany and must have felt ripped off.
