The post you are reporting:
The trouble is that Nick Pleb, erm sorry Clegg, has fixated his ideas for a wealth tax on the most vulnerable in our society namely the elderly which is most odd coming from a Man who professes to stand up for minorities, the sick and the old.
So what we are witnessing from the tofu munchers is merely another panic driven drive to come up with a policy popular with students, reconstructed socialists (environmentalists), don't know which way to voters, Independent readers but not independent thinkers and other hopeless cases, an idea which will have a half life of less than one day - in other words as long as the liberal conference.
Not content with pretending to run a country and knowing that they are as popular as brut aftershave in a spacesuit, or words to that effect, it's panic time.
They know that the usual motions of legalising pot or making it compulsory for every cinema from Lands end to John o groats to have three matinee perfomances highlighting the fortunes of peasant husbandry in the 1960's in some far off place (black and white of course) will no longer cut it so they have to be seen to be doing something no matter how stupid or hopeless the idea.
Of course in the real world the conservatives are doing a splendid job of taxing us all to death without the help of the liberals.
Drinking, smoking, wind farms, overseas aid are the first that spring to mind but there are thousands more and thousands yet to be invented.
Hooray for the lib dems I say. At least they give us all a laugh in this world of trouble and turmoil.
I'd love a liberal conference every Saturday night to watch on the box - it beats Strictly for laughs and always makes plebs like me feel superior.
