  Heard water jets were gonna be installed in the market sq for next yr , now I ve heard DTC are gonna spend 1.7 on a fountain ,if this is true who's stupid idiotic idea was this ,cmon own up

  First I have heard of a new fountain there are plans in the future for some sort of water feature stretching from Market Square to Cannon Street but that is at an early stage and subject to outside funding.

  The 1.7m covers the whole of the public realm redevelopment of Market Square and Canon Street, which will include a water feature

  I think it's a great idea and don't agree the big screen was a debacle either. Watching the Olympic Opening ceremony in 2012, for example, was the next best thing to being there. As Ross says the £1.7 million is for the whole project, not just a water feature.

  Why not install a few in the gents bog round the corner,anyone spending too long in the cubicle up to no good gets soaked.
