Even if the waste comes from a domestic property, if it is the result of commercial activity i.e. you have paid someone to clear your garden - it then becomes trade waste. The person transporting it must hold a waste carriers license, and make out a consignment note before they start their journey. If they go to the Whitfield site they will be wieghed in and have to go to the trade waste section at the top where everything goes to landfill even if it is recyclable - the charge is now well over £100 per ton.
For RESPONSIBLE business owners I suppose this does encourage us to recycle everything we can ourselves but unfortunatly there are all too many IRESPONSIBLE 'business' owners out there, who are just encouraged to fly tip all the more.
