Wartime falconry at the castle

  interesting event at the castle this weekend, popped up earlier this afternoon as i always enjoy the falconry displays.
  
  found out that in 1940 the government declared open season on wild peregrines to allow safe passage to hundreds of british carrier pigeons returning from france with important messages.

  that's why i had to fly off john(no pun intended), great to meet your charming family complete with pet bulldog.
