A few weeks ago I heard the Minister for Sport Tracy Crouch talking about how hard it is to get the over 60's active in sport. Knowing her partner is Steve Ladner who I knew from Dover I facebooked him and said she should look at walking. As a walk leader in Medway and walking a grade 3 walk, tough hilly in Capstone Park in Chatham I invited her to join me.
She was impressed to learn that there are over 25 walks over Monday to Friday, the walk lasts an hour, and she managed to get round, she talked to several of the walkers and asked me afterwards how it is funded. What was funny was this is not the first time a ex Labour Councillor hass show a Tory M.P. the right way to go!
