Just caught up with this thread, sorry to hear about your dodgy knee Bern, your post above made me think about my experience in London at the weekend. There I was walking the London streets with both daughters when my left knee gaveway and the pain was excruciating, I had to sit and rest for quite a long time before I attempted to move again. All was well again so I carried on with the day. We then got on the tube and had to change lines up huge staircases(no escalator working) when it went again. I literally couldn't move but the crowd kept coming and most got quite annoyed that I was blocking part of the staircase. My daughters tried to explain but to no avail and luckily they managed to help me to the top. This kept on happening throughout the day.

I'm home now and have rested but it still feels dodgy so I hope it was just one of those things that will go away as fast as it came. Most of you here know my age, so one wonders if at a certain age the guarantee on joints runs out, a bit like electrical goods these days, when within days of the guarantee coming to an end the telly or the washing machine goes bang Hope Im not due to join the stick club yet although I'd be in good company with Bern at the moment and JanH not to mention the Queen
