Worth doing if you are able to Vic as the reward is in seeing the improvement that you are able to make to their reading progress.

I have been helping with the reading at our local primary school for more than 5 years and in that time have enjoyed the experience too, especially so when one of my readers stood up and read the lesson at an end of year church service!

A proud moment considering he was struggling when I took him on.

It's not rocket science but practice and perseverance is what many need to gain confidence in their ability to be better readers. Unfortunately not all get the opportunity to read at home which is a shame.

Thank you Bob, that's lovely to hear it from your perspective as a reading helper :)
