Their own quoted figures suggest that 3 or 4 out of every 10 domestic assaults are against men, could be father against son or the other way around, a daughter in law against an aged father in law but the plan is only to combat violence by men against women, strange logic but not unexpected.

What is this if not more virtue signalling?
Councillor Wood stated in her report to Council that
There is a strong likelihood that people are living in our town who are subject to these conditions. Policing this is not the job of the Town Council, but for us to show our abhorrence for this practice would show our support for the thinking that led to the Government’s Modern Slavery Act and express our sympathy and support for victims. It would allow us to draw attention of residents to this issue, which might well result in some victims being rescued.

Surely there aren't any councils that are pro-slavery or pro domestic violence or pro male on female harassment or violence, so why spend council funds on producing reports on this stuff; of course I could be wrong...
If parish councillors have nothing to do then they could, heaven forbid, check on the allotments, or get themselves into their wards and deal with residents issues, even if all they can do is button hole district council officers or councillors....

Unfortunately far too many of these petty bureaucrats spend more time on whatever whim they happen to dream up than important local matters.
Violence whether it is committed in the home or in the street to anyone is completely wrong.
