In view of the Westminster and other previous attacks where vehicles have been used in pedestrian areas do you think it's time for Dover High Street to have a physical barrier that prevents vehicle access during the daytime? This would also stop the daily cat-and-mouse antics between parking attendants and those who still insist on driving into the market square?

Its a shame they don't clamp down on this, and other offences like speeding, using a mobile phone while driving and having illegal number plates just for the sake of upholding the law rather than using a terrorist attack as the excuse. Far too many people get away with far too much while driving around because of the shortage of police on our streets and I would love to see things changed.

Wasn't that long ago I was nearly mown down by a scaffolding vehicle on the precinct outside "Works". The driver must have been doing 20 mph and was rattling away into his mobile phone completely oblivious to all around him. Most drivers stick to a sensible speed when using the bit between Market Square and Pencester Road but It may well be time for barriers to be installed in the light of the events in London and Belgium in the last couple of days.

I think barriers are a good idea they could always be the removable kind for when there is the need to access the area.
