  going off at a tangent a bloke i used to work with years ago took a shine to a girl and decided to chat her up at an office birthday

  he was a real ladies man, slicked back hair, medallion, sharp suit etc. he was standing next to her holding a cigarette in a sophisticated way and trying to sound like clint eastwood when a length of ash fell off onto her expensive silk blouse. he tried to retrieve the situation by brushing it off but only succeeded in spreading all over her rather large chest.
  
  the look of quiet contempt on her face said it all, needless to say the rest of us were biting the carpet with laughter.
