  Many years ago when we both a lot younger than we are now, Graham Tutthill and myself played a little game. When the new telephone directory came out we would scan through it to see how many mistakes we could spot.
  
  Thus it was that when the new Thompson Local dropped on to the doormat I couldn't resist reviving an old pastime. I didn't need to look far.
  
  Inside the first few pages are some items of information for Canterbury and Dover including street maps.
  
  Under useful numbers, Medway Maritime is listed as the nearest A&E hospital to Canterbury. Dover is fortunate in having both Medway and Southend as the nearest.
  
  And our local police station? PODPOL in the Eastern Docks.
