Thanet council had a

£45k feasibility study carried out this year on the future of this part of the commercial harbour.
one bullet point from the feasibility study mentions ▪ The Port currently operates 1x single-deck RoRo berths (vessels up to 160m LOA, 6.5m draft) with dual lane access/egress. Current traffic levels are low and irregular, and depend heavily on inbound overflow demand from nearby port facilities. The Port currently manages inbound cargoes with no recent history of loaded outbound vessel movements.
Iirc the double decked linkspan ferry berth was decommissioned and locked during 2019. It looks very dilapidated.
Maybe the work to re commission the ferry berth was going to be done with funds from seabourne freight via chris grayling.
There has been recent dredging but maybe just minimal for the current vessel traffic and the construction of Bretts new aggregate conveyor pontoon.
The misery ship (joline) is the only regular visitor, hopefully not for long though.
