It would appear that a US Army Major Hasan Uli who was due to be shipped overseas has run amok and killed 12 soldiers and wounded 31 others at the army base 'Hood' in Texas.
What is the world coming to?....an End?...

No he won't Phil, but was it because he "lost it" or was he acting with others who the FBI/CIA are now chasing ? was he a terrorist for example ?

Apparently some "radicalised" material was found on his computer - althogh clearly it is too soon to jump to immediate conclusions.

how did he get to the rank that he did without someone noticing that he had some sort of serious character defect?

Howard, it might be simply that he went over the edge recently as the result of whatever - many upstanding and bright individuals crack at some point.

turns out that he was a medic that did not want to go to iraq.
whether that has much to do with it, we will find out in due course.

With the difficulty of detecting suicide bombers, we now have the worse scenario of watching your back. As well as this incident, remember that policeman in Afghanistan the other day shooting those soldiers. Going to be hard to know who you can trust. Frightening for those involved, and a headache to find a solution I`m sure. Conventional warfare has gone forever.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

By all accounts he was a mental health specialist helping servicemen and women returning from war zones, also he was estranged from his family i think he just cracked up.
