Andrew - one problem Ross' statement has, I quote: """What Dover needs now is some unity from those of all political persuasions and those with no allegiance to work together and promote the best for the town.""""

The different parties can each want the best for the Town and yet disagree. There is no such thing as one single 'best for the Town' that all can agree on. Matters are far too complex than that and the debate on what direction and what is best is an important one.

Take Whitfield and the housing issue, many will believe that this is the best thing for Dover in the long term while other will disagree, that is a honest debate.

So I am afraid that the suggestion, Ross, in that sentence is in itself purile.
