Locally we cannot afford to allow fracking because of the water supply to our district - it's all in acquifers and not much to spare.

It was and has been stated by the fracking companies that chemicals are used, but they won't say which ones and whether they would pollute the water supply.

I do believe that there will be areas (quite a lot of them around the country) that can safely allow fracking, but after our scrutiny of it at DDC, so much information came out, that the recommendation was NO.

I cannot say whether I am for or against wind and solar farms as I am on the planning committee and that would be predetermination.
