    the days of faceless bureaucrats ruling over small nations is a relic of the past reg.

    the evidence of the last 20 or so years in europe alone has seen the collapse of the soviet union and yugoslavia into the countries that they actually were before.
    czechoslovakia split into two, belgium planning to divide into 3, scotland thinking of leaving the united kingdom.

    in other countries the catalan movement wants seperation from spain, the northern league in italy wants the country split in 2.

    no doubt there are others that i have missed.

    the fact is that superstates do not work in europe, some countries are more independent of others but overall they like to elect those that rule them.
