An area of Dover has been evacuated due to a suspected unexploded bomb in Snargate Street.
Police were called at 12.20pm and the area has been cordoned off as a precaution.
Bomb disposal officers are due to arrive this afternoon.
A police spokesman said: "The area has been cordoned off as a precaution and people have been evacuated from buildings in the immediate vicinity.
"The road and pedestrian footpaths are currently closed in both directions.
"Traffic diversions are being put in place. Motorists heading to Dover are being warned to expect some delays."
Kent County Council Highways tweeted that Snargate Street between the junction with York Street and Union Road was closed.
