My Father retired at the age of 65 ,I can see his face now he was very sad .He had no private pension only a few bob from the state .The trouble now a days too many people working much longer and married woman working .There are less jobs for the young people .When I was widowed all those years ago I received a Widowed Mothers allowance when my children reached 16 it reverted to a widows pension .I was very grateful for this this I only did a small part time job at Christmas one year because to have returned to a full time job would have deprived a younger person of a job .When I first became a Councillor the pay was for attendance only which i used for child care .
I could be much richer but it was my choice .
IT annoys me to see people working after retirement age .
My parents lived a simple life .
