I don't disagree Gary and your comment about Councils being treated like a cash-cow, may have been true, but they are being starved of millions of pounds and serious cuts are necessary and have been made over recent years and will continue to be made until they cannot exist - and then perhaps Reg will get his way and this will result in many more thousands (hundreds across the Country) being made unemployed, but create some savings, but probably only for a short time as Gov'ts will then cut their money even sharper.
The welfare and benefits payments paid out by local authorities gets reimbursed by the Government and it is the Gov't who are making these massive cuts - everywhere and it is the targetting of these people less able to afford it, that is so wrong.
