Keith, I note that in the "Theatre" thread whilst replying to Alexander you imply that UKIP are unlikely to win a seat in the local Council elections.
You may well be right of course, but I think the votes are out there for UKIP and although the party did poorly in the last General Election for reasons that we have previosly stated, the "Locals" are a completely different kettle of fish.
Only last year I stood in the KCC elections for Dover West and achieved a fairly respectable result as shown below:-
Cons...........2,463
UKIP...........1,352
lib-dim........1,008
Labour...........645
I was up against the popular Bryan Cope ( very nice guy by the way ) but that result surely proves that there are a fair number of people willing to give us a chance at local level. This was also achieved without any canvassing. ( due to all our efforts going into the European elections. )
