Okay, well could we have some of the spare cash to fund biomedical research into ME/CFS, please?
Seriously, there is insufficient funding for biomedical research into the causes of and the possible cures or ameliorations for ME/CFS, and insufficient training for medical professionals in this neurological disability.
There are more than 2½ times the number of ME/CFS sufferers in the UK than suffer from MS (a condition once also disbelieved). A 2006 enquiry into the unaddressed issues of research from a report in 2002 to the Chief Medical Officer stated that "The UK should take this opportunity to lead the way in encouraging biomedical research into the causes of CFS/ME."
How would UKIP help the UK lead in this way?
