  Tom, it was the 'Peter Hitchens' post I was referring to, which has subsequently been replied to. I am not trying to be either controversial or egotistical, merely trying to point out that some people (in general, not just on this forum) will suck up any propaganda that matches their world view. This is what I mean when I talk of a 'cut and paste' mentality. I understand perfectly well what it means, and how it applies to the internet (how to 'suck it up' though?), but I was using the expression as a euphemism. (I think thats the right word).
  You don't appear to fall into the above category, and seem to be able to think for yourself, but I must ask, a little tongue in cheek, what does 'it really is no bad thing that this is otherwise' actually mean ?
