  i am sure that has featured here before about a year ago.
  
  hazarding a guess, i think it was one of the two largest cranes in existence.
  
  maybe paulb can trawl through the archives of the front page and find it?

  A few days ago a 630-tonne giant crawler crane lifted a section of a river bridge into place by one in Porthmadog. I wonder if it was returning from that or moving on to somewhere else?

  It is a couple of container cranes being delivered for use in some port or other by a particularly small ship or barge. It is quite extraordinary what cargoes can be delivered on heavy lift ships. Ballasting enables them to remain stable but seeing some of the topweight defies belief that it is possible.
