Back in 1482 a man from now Rochdale proclaimed to be Vic the 1st.
He lived in a small Hamlet and claimed he could rid the country of nasty people who fleeced the public, and also cure people of all illnesses by hitting them in the nose once or twice and at the same time close all roads for repairs with a snap of his fingers.
After coming out of rehab he was banished from the hamlet for life and went on to become a tax collector for the true king of the time.
Being known as a snappy dresser and buying expensive jackets and hats the true king sent him into exile in France and he was never heard of again.
