Two Chinooks
- 29 March 2011 19:1999197Rather annoyed with myself... I decided to stop to get a snap or two of the sunset, but went past Langdon Cliffs as there were a couple of cars blocking the way so parked up at the memorials at Swingate. Just as I got out of the car there was an almightly noise as TWO chinooks appeared from under the cliffs, came up at Fan Bay, swung round the lighthouse and inland !!!
Any ideas what was going on? Were they in the docks or did they just do a very low coastal sweep ?

30 March 2011 07:1899243paul,paulb,it seems to be a reguler acurance of late,at least every 7 to 10 days.they rattle past my house that close i could shake hands with the pilot.it could be a gurka exersize due to redeployment to afgan. - 30 March 2011 08:3199246Yes there was one about a week ago Brian and it rattled past my window too ..nearly had palpitations so I did. They make a thunderous sound. There was just one that time but it was very low and came over the roof. The ones yesterday, two of them, were more out over the harbour wall at my point in the flight path....but you can certain;ly hear them coming as the ground quakes.email: dover7@msn.com
