I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I think she was a bit daft saying what she did but she is a character and we need more of them in Parliament. Fortunately there is room for 'off-message' people in the Conservative Party as it is the party for individuals.

There are independently minded people in the Conservatives. Apart from that Cameron is big enough not to hold any kind of personal petty spite unlike Brown.
- 24 April 2012 07:50167835Straight away when I saw this item yesterday on the non stop news, I wondered what our own star blogger BarryW would make of it...as clearly she is one of Barry's heroic figures as he mentioned previously several times.
But here she was larger than life yesterday, with odd looking cleavage it must be said, sticking the proverbial boot in. Not to the opposition ..no...but to her own Conservative Prime Minister and Chancellor. Nor was it an attack on policy but it was a personal attack of the nastyish order. Not a slip of the tongue but a prepared statement.
In case anyone doesnt know what Nadine Dorries looks like here she is...
I couldnt get a pic of her with mouth closed alas...
What motivation could she have, as clearly it was the cheapest of cheap shots...the only answer has to be publicity. Sadly she seems to be someone who needs a huge shot of publicity and needs it very often. But it does nothing to enhance an individual's reputation as an MP this kind of thing.

Quite extraordinary.
It is widely reported this morning across all the national newspapers causing the Prime Minister an unnecessary and some would say pointless headache. He is now having to defend his posh boy status in national interviews whan I am sure he would find it more beneficial getting on with other things of more pressing importance.
Although.. it appears to be the season of the unruly back bencher..another group of them, again on his own Conservative side..have yesterday criticised their own governments record calling it policy by 'patch and mend'.
