The post you are reporting:
Someone told me the end of May Howard.
I had secured funding from 3 different sources to promote the Market, but according to businesses I have recently spoken to, this is not being accessed and the Chamber of Commerce have instructed Spencer to call on all the businesses here to ask if they will take a stall to supplement the numbers of stalls expected - as they are not doing what I had suggested.
I had even made up the entry for the various papers and magazines promoting Dover and the market.
Why should a shop-keeper be expected to pay out for a stall, someone to run it and extra stock to put on it, when they are already paying inflated prices for rent and rates for their shop ?
The number of stalls that would have come, would have increased the footfall by quite a lot, so the shops and businesses (of all sorts) would benefit.
They really have not got a clue, not just on the market, but everything else concerning Dover.
Not my problem now of course, but the businesses are not happy and I can understand why
Brian, what is a siuuy ? I appreciated it is just a case of hitting the wrong keys, but I couldn't work it out.
