TV commercials louder than programmes?

  They always say this is not the case but today I had new hearing aids fitted at our state of the art hospital in Coombe Valley Rd. I set them at standard volume and all seemed just about right watching something on the "Yesterday" channel this evening then when the adscome on I nearly jumped out of my chair.

  I think on some of the freeview channels the ads can be louder,ive noticed this before and thought it was a prob with our tv volume but it does seem to happen sometimes.

  I would have laughed too Jacqui I think Andy is right and Freeview doesn't come under the constraints that BBC, ITV and Channel 4 are under. The other thing is that the Freeview channels seem to have a lot more and longer commercial breaks.

  I,ve noticed that some of the channels can be quite louder than others as well.
