i thought there was now a law that meant parents could be fined if their offspring did not attend school without good reason.
every day many of school age can be seen in the town during school hours.
this morning there were 3 different groups totalling 10 of the age group somewhere between late primary school and early secondary school in pencester gardens.

quite a few out this afternoon too vic, there was supposed to be a crack down on it.
i was told by a lady over the road to me a couple of years ago that when her kids were a few minutes late at school she got a phone call from them asking why.

That's obviously it Vic, the school has given up on them. They probably said something along the lines of "right we've had enough of you, get yourself and friends and walk about the town."

Probably so many about because of the amount that get excluded from school now for behaviour issues.

bit of a poor show if these feral kids are unleashed on an unsuspecting public.
they are also in danger from predatory types that would offer them the chance to make some money.
i wonder if there is a link between them and this grafitti on the bandstand?

When the girls attended either St. Richards, St. Augustines (Hythe) and Dover Grammar School for Girls, if they missed registation we would also receive a call from the school.

Have you any children?
This graphiti has been on the Bandstand for some time now...I pointed it out on the Bandstand thread......you blamed the Italians then........
It could be middle aged men....
there are plenty of them roaming around Pencester

Parents do still get calls, and are expected to get pass slips when taking children to medical etc appointments. The crux of the problem will be when the schools can not get hold of the parents. What are they supposed to do if the parents can never be reached, or have themselves 'given up'?
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
