Just watching this now and was wondering if any of you with military knowledge can tell me what the small LCD device about the size of an iPhone / GPS unit is that I noticed fixed to one if the large drums?

I would think without looking it is about keeping the beat all the same when I was in a military band in the 1950s and 60s we had nothing like that ,also it might be showing up how all the others are going behind him to keep in step.

Thanks for that, I suspected it was something along those lines, technology everywhere now!

I still enjoy these sort of occasions, especially like now when they are showing behind the scenes, we would never have such a spectacle if we did not have the monarchy.
I often wonder whether the Queen enjoys them or thinks "here we go again it's dressing up time".

I'm sure the Queen enjoys it.
And although I'm biased - No one but no one on this planet can do 'Pomp' to the standard that our country can.
I know that when I have been in London and witnessed events such as this in The Mall, Whiehall or Trafalgar Square my heart swells with pride.
At such times, enjoying these moments with citizens from around the world makes me so proud of being a citizen of the finest country in the world. It's no wonder that so many want to come and enjoy their lives with us.

Couldn't agree more, Ian, we're definitely top of the league when it comes to pomp and circumstance, and military spectacle. Just a shame we don't have the number of military bands we once had.

Yes, I wonder what "APP" he was using - I've searched for 'Trooping', Queen, Birthday, Marching but to no avail!
Regards
Ian
