We have a motorhome. We have to pay quite a bit to stay at places for the night.
These people don't.
I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I drove to the re-cycling centre at Whitfield today.
Can anyone tell me what's being done about it?
I see there is some kind of notice attached to the fence

I emailed a similar photo to Nigel Collor at lunchtime. They appear to have caused damage to the height barrier at the entrance. That would of course not be civil trespass but criminal damage.

I was only thinking I hadn't seen the McDonagh's lately, I wonder if that's them?

not necessarily, councils tend to tread warily with the travelling community.
i would imagine that the residents of the car park have done their homework too.
It would depend if they are true travelers or Romanys or just people who happen to have parked up while they work in the area

I wonder if the CCTV was working.
I doubt if they are Romany more like the travellers who create litter and mayhem wherever they go.

I wonder if they've got time to connect to the mains, build an attractive brick entrance to the Travellers Park (Whitfield) Ltd whilst they put in a new driveway

it seems that they tried the old "human rights" con, the council did not swallow it and got shot of them.

Amazing how quickly they can get moved off council land.

my thoughts jan, trying not to be cynical but i bet a private company would need to go through the courts to get them out of their car park.

Presumably there are some standing traffic orders on the carpark that makes it legally possibile to move them on that wouldn't generally be in place on someones driveways. I am sure it must has happened in the past there
Been nice knowing you :)

I vaguely remember some travellers up there several years ago and they were there for quite a while.
It would be nice if we had that bit of law available to all of us.

Civil rights, Human rights......................money speaks.
As on another thread, you can be as Sleazzzzy as you like. pay the money and keep every one quiet.
Stop them from telling the truth. stop them to keep your reputation intact.
This human rights malarky has got to go.
