I read yesterday that T.F .L are going to stop useing the term "Ladies & Gentelmen " on the public announcment, they are now going to say " Hello Eveverbody" they say that the term "ladies & gentelmen " could be classed as sexist. Who thinks up such a load of rubbish? most people just want the information that is being told them. I suppose the next step will be to say hi ya or hi -de -hi

I'm struggling to understand how 'ladies and gentlemen' can be considered sexist or exclusive in some way - I mean, surely it leaves out only assistance dogs and aliens. Anyway, I prefer this form of address as it gives me the benefit of the doubt and sounds better than 'oi, you lot on the platform'.
Even Alan Rickman in Die Hard used it!

I read that it was about not offending Transgender people.

More PC lunacy, if you identify as a man or a woman then that is how you wish to be acknowledged no one from the transgender community would be offended!
More a case of people being offended on their behalf, much like all the do-gooders in Dover who feign offence on behalf of us military veterans.

Anyone calling me a lady, or a gentleman for that matter, will drown in a bottle of Geneva for their presumption. I’m a pleb, and proud. Hic.

Transgender? I think it must be catching.
Only the other night I felt myself to be trapped in a woman's body.
