I have heard it mentioned in the past about digging canals to bring water south where there are shortages and are likely to be even more shortages in the years ahead. But with regard to travel, we are all interested in speed now. How quick we can get from A to B. Its basically to do with commerce, speed saves time and money...or so they tell us anyway.
