Just seen the following on FB, shows how ineffectual or pointless a councillor can be yet still has the nerve to keep standing.

    Cllr Nigel Collor

It is obvious that Dover TAP has failed and Operation Brock can’t cope. As most of you are no doubt aware ALL roads into Dover this morning were at virtually at a standstill and had been since yesterday.
So, this morning, we had the M20 Brock unable to cope. The A20 TAP full and hardly moving. The A2 Jubilee Way virtually was at a standstill with the queue extending back to the Whitfield roundabout. The A256 from Whitfield Hill to Townwall Street was almost stationary. The B2011 – Folkestone Road and York Street were also extremely busy with traffic trying to get through.
This all could have been foreseen as there are historic figures that can predict when traffic will be excessive even if we look past the excuses that the P&O situation and one DFDS ship is out of action. Has anyone given a thought to the relief staff struggling to get to work at the Port to relive colleagues who have been no doubt taking the brunt of the pressure all night.
I feel that the people of Dover have been seriously let down by Kent Police and the Kent Resilience Forum who could have taken some action before Dover once again got well and truly shafted.
Having spent the past almost 25 years fighting to improve Dover’s traffic situation it is always the same answer even from successive Government Ministers of both major parties – we’ll cope with it when it arises, but add this weeks situation to a couple of years ago when the French closed their borders and there is no improvement – quite the opposite.
I reached out to the KRF, leaders of Kent County and Dover District Councils and our MP this morning at 8am and have been keeping abreast of this issue all day. Thank you to our MP, Natalie Elphicke, for standing up for Dover and pressing the Kent Resilience Forum and transport minister to secure better active roads management for Dover.
