This will make the Dover IBF even more attractive to the local residents, businesses etc. I look forward to walking along the roman road and seeing this going on...... (he says sarcastically)

Mrs Elphicke seems way ahead of you: "While I completely understand that no-one wants a development near their own home, this is a nationally critical piece of infrastructure that is required to help make a success of Brexit and which will secure jobs and money for hundreds of local people."

Could've been worse though - at least it's not French controls. Mrs Elphicke again "Smooth-running trade between Dover and Calais is in the interests of both the United Kingdom and the European Union. In fact, especially for the EU, as they sell us much more than we sell them. Yet the behaviour of the French authorities over Christmas and since appears to have hampered that vital smooth trade rather than enable it... In recent days, there are additional concerns that an unduly heavy-handed approach is being taken on export paperwork."
