  It’s my view that our representative MP ought to be someone local to the constituency. I have no time for the “career” politicians- individuals who are only interested in climbing the greasy political pole. They don’t care to which community “seat” they’re elected. Hence why so many stand in various places around the country until they’re successful. They pay lip service to supporting their constituents. Voters deserve better, communities need representation by an MP who has a personal knowledge of and a personal deep commitment to the people, not individuals who are more committed to the Party machine.
  I fear my days of making use of my vote are over as I have completely lost faith in the democratic process. As a child I was brought up to have respect for and look up to our MP, as I’ve grown older the integrity of politicians has diminished and there are very few who now have my respect.
