FRANCE - STRIKE ACTION - CALAIS PORT

Following failed talks in Paris yesterday, the French port control officers have confirmed (at this stage) to hold a national day of industrial action commencing at 0800hrs Thursday 28th March.
It is likely to affect all the major French ports.

At this stage it is unclear as to what kind of action will take place, it may vary from a 'GO SLOW' to temporary or total suspension of services for the 24 hour period (0800hrs 29th March local time).

Bar a last minute breakthrough in negotiations, it must be assumed that there will be a good deal of disruption getting across the Channel.

Ferry customers are advised to liaise with their chosen operator for updates on sailing schedules.

We've been advised that Eurotunnel will be unaffected by this action, but they are aware of it and intend increasing the number of trains to assist with the volume of traffic.
