Not controversial at all Ross, as Carl as Big Local points out, in many cases hardly any money has been spent and is sitting around idle. This is mainly because those involved spend their time squabbling over what to do with it rather than implementing plans.
I hope the Big Local here is a great success, as others point out losing the Portas bid might be a blessing in disguise for us, we seem to have achieved more than those who won, for squabbling see Margate.
Anyway, we've a long way to go but we're making progress, our new scheme MAKE IT HAPPEN is launched next week, we're giving funds to local people to start a business of their own, and mentoring them through a 12 week development process covering all aspects of business. Thats what regeneration is all about, we're taking the money we've made from the market and re-investing it in the people of Dover.
