I was on the town council when it did buy the building it is in now,and it was the right thing to do or we would have lost that great building and the history that goes with it ,and yes we got it on a loan but it could be paid off,Also I was on the committee that was going to bring up to date the sport ground up at the hights,it was a football ground and not a bad one before that,if it had not been for a election coming at the wrong time and some of us lost our seats it would not be in the bad state it is today. But all in the pass now. I am very open mined about what will happen over the next ten years in Dover but I have lived in the Town from 1942 it might be the time for me to move because having seen a great war time town at its very best in and after the war, to what it is today, is very upseting to myself. It has been my family home and apart from my own years in the army and working overseas it has been my home but most of my family have now died or moved away.
