Sue did you mean the Councillors are only in it for power? because if you did I would dispute that,I am certinately not in for the power and I speak for my friends on the labour side,we are in it to do the best for the people in our wards. Our wards are also some of the poorest in the district which means we have more ward work to do than in the 'richer' parts of the Town.
Just recently when you lost your Cabinet position on the Council we heard about it on hear and in the paper, soon after I lost my position on the Shadow Cabinet because the Leader reduced the amount of Cabinet members. What you do not realise is I stepped down because it would have meant me fighting an election against 2 of my friends who do a very good job,so I withdrew quietly, that doesn't sound like a power crazy person. You will also remember that when I was Deputy Mayor i resigned when the chances were the next year I would have been Mayor.

Vic have to disagree with you,any effective Council needs an opposition for proper scruity, and I know Sue would agree as once again she backed a Labour idea to get people involved in what the District Council does, because she realises that the people should have a voice and discuss the sell off of nearly everything the Council holds. Well done Sue!
